![]() ![]() Tuning heavy gauge strings down will definitely give you more string excursion, leading to more buzzing, but 11s on a LP are like 10s on a Strat, and a half-step is not much of a drop. There are innumerable good setup tutorials on the web, beginning with and Frank Ford, and I would follow one of them. And there are, indeed, a large number of possible issues, from simple truss rod tweaks to bad frets. I'll bet your problem can be adjusted away, but that can't be done by trying one tip at a time, because it all goes together. The whole point of a good guitar is that it should feel wonderful to play. On any decent guitar, you should be able to achieve buzz-free action without having to resort to undesirable options like just raising the bridge to an unusual, unwanted height. ![]()
